“In sluggish pursuit of survival, a swarm of leeches pour out of their cocoon. The bloodsuckers rain upon the ground in a symphony of wet thuds, and they trail outwards in search of a host from which to feed. One by one, they latch onto fleshy beings and gorge on thick, hot blood, exerting corruptible power over that which is pure. Two organisms, parasite and host, become one in a convoluted marriage until it is unclear where one ends and the other begins. United, they sing ecstatic prayers of unholy bliss.”
